Privacy Policy

This policy describes, in plain language, what data Fix My Settings (3dprofilefix.com) collects, why, and what your rights are. The short version: free analyses run entirely in your browser and we never see your files; if you create an account, we store your email, your points balance and the results of paid analyses.

The free tool: your files stay in your browser

The questionnaire, the rule-based diagnosis and the profile health check run as JavaScript on your own machine. When you upload a .3mf project or a slicer profile for a free analysis, the file is parsed locally in your browser and is never uploaded to our servers. The same applies to the fixed preset and fixed project files the tool generates — they are built in your browser and downloaded directly from it. You can use all of this without an account, and without giving us any personal data at all.

What we store if you create an account

Accounts use magic-link sign-in: you give us an email address, we send you a sign-in link. There are no passwords. For account holders we store:

Feedback

The optional “Did this fix your print?” feedback stores your verdict, an optional free-text comment, and — if you agree to include it — the diagnostic context (your questionnaire answers and the recommendations you were shown), so we can improve the rules. Feedback can be sent without an account; if you are signed in, it is linked to your account. Your IP address is recorded with feedback submissions solely for rate limiting (preventing abuse), not for profiling.

Photos and the AI analysis (Anthropic)

The paid photo analysis sends your photo, together with your questionnaire answers and the rule engine’s output, to Anthropic’s API (the provider of the Claude AI models) for processing. Anthropic processes the image to produce the analysis; see Anthropic’s privacy policy for how they handle API data. We store the resulting analysis text in your account history — we do not keep a copy of the photo itself in our database. Only upload photos of prints; please don’t include people or personal documents in the frame.

Cookies

We use strictly functional cookies only:

There are no tracking, advertising or third-party analytics cookies on this site.

First-party traffic statistics

To understand which pages help people, we collect basic, self-hosted usage statistics: the page you view, the site that referred you (its domain only), how long the page was visible, and two random identifiers your own browser generates and keeps (no cookies are set for this, and we never store your IP address). Nothing is shared with or sent to any third party — no Google Analytics, no ad networks. If your browser sends the Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, we collect nothing at all.

Where your data lives

Account data is stored in a database operated on our hosting provider’s servers. Access is restricted to the site’s operator; we do not sell or share your data with third parties, other than the Anthropic API processing described above (which only happens when you explicitly run a photo analysis).

Your rights (GDPR)

You can at any time request:

Write to privacy@3dprofilefix.com from the email address on the account, and we will act on the request within the timeframes the GDPR requires. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Changes to this policy

If we change what we collect or how we use it, we will update this page and its “last updated” date. Material changes affecting account holders will be flagged in the app.
